Authentic log cabin – original structure built with hand cut logs in 1865. and was located until 1961 just down the street from its current location. The original section of this cabin has been added on to and today has all the modern conveniences. The original owners had dirt floors and cut all the logs by hand, using wooden pegs to build the cabin. The current owner has lovingly filled it with knick knacks and memorabilia from days gone by. They can trace their roots back to Annie Oakley and her photo has a special place in the cabin along with several books about her. Owls, pheasant and bears add to the “homey” feel welcoming you as soon as you walk in the front door. The modern kitchen – located in the original log structure – is lovingly decorated in red and white with an apple theme. The lawn is large and grassy with well tended landscaping. You’ll want to spend a great deal of time enjoying the outdoors. The hot tub is located on a covered porch . Covered patio area for grilling and eating outdoors. Both the yard and the house are totally private. There is a side porch just off the “log cabin” section which has a wonderful swing and glider for those lazy, lazy summer afternoons in the Smoky Mountains. Easy access year round.
